In March, 2000 I finally decided to check out the world of thread crochet and have been enjoying it ever since! . Here's my First few projects! Enjoy! .
. . This is the Very First thread project I ever completed. Well, I did make a quick bookmark just prior to starting this doily, but it was mainly just a practice piece to help me get used to the thread and small hook. (It turned out quite badly, but Mom loves it!) This Square Pineapple Doily (also claimed by Mom!) is about 8½" across. Click the name to get the pattern and tell Priscilla I sent you! She's a Very sweet and helpful lady! :o) . .
. . My second project was this Stunningly Beautiful Petite Pineapple Doily which measures about 8¼" - also by Priscilla! She's one talented lady as far as I'm concerned. After all, if I hadn't stumbled upon her pages I probably would not have taken such an interest in working with thread! I made this one for a Doily Exchange I joined as part of a crochet E-mail list I was on! :o) . ..
. . And here's my third one! I've gone doily crazy - but I'm Loving it!! This one was made using (you guessed it) one of Priscilla's yarn patterns, but I thought it would look nice done in thread. The actual pattern only went as far as the inner "solid" area and from there I improvised. This was given as a wedding gift to one of my "step" nephews and his wife. They Love and Cherish it! :o) It's about 9½" square and as you can tell, it didn't all fit into my scanner! :o) Go check out Priscilla's site! . .
. . Lastly, here's the First one I did without the benefit of a pattern! My Very First Doily Creation! I had gotten an idea and was trying it out, not realizing it would come out like it did. I call this one Spiral Simplicity because of its shape and how easy it is to make. It's 12" across - again, too big for the scanner! The pattern can be found from the Patterns page! This was also sent to the same person who received the Petite Pineapple above - I even dedicated it to her and gave it an alternate name in her honor just because I wanted to! :o) . . Thanks for stopping by to see my First thread projects! I sure hope you enjoyed viewing these as much as I enjoyed making them! :o) |
